The best RV camping breakfast

Does anything really beat a good breakfast hash bowl with all the drippings and yummy goodness? For me, it doesn’t!

A breakfast bowl is one of my favorite RV camping foods! Nothing better than waking up on a cool fall morning in the woods to a hearty, warm bowl of potatoes, sausage, and eggs.

For whatever reason I am a big fan of breakfast bowls, I don’t even know when this started, but I have tried so many variations over the years.

I decided to share some of them with you!

Our version of the hash bowl!

The basics of any RV camping breakfast bowl

  1. potato (I prefer sweet potatoes)

  2. meat (I tend to like sausage)

  3. eggs (I like my just set so they ooze all over the bowl)

Simple, easy and yummy!

Sometimes though I like to kick it up a bit.

Here are some variations of the RV camping breakfast bowl to try:

  1. Sweet potatoes, apple, onion, sausage, and eggs. I spice this up with cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, garlic, salt, pepper, and rosemary. You can add a touch of cayenne to this to kick it up a bit. You can see this entire recipe on our VLOG.

  2. Red potatoes, bacon, and eggs. Add salt, pepper, garlic and of course some shredded cheese.

For the ultimate bowl make some biscuits and gravy first. Start with the biscuit on the bottom of the bowl (just from a can is fine) then add in your potatoes, sausage, and eggs then top the whole thing with homemade gravy. My mouth is watering just thinking about this.

There are so many variations to this and you can make a bowl just for kids or one on the healthier side if you want.

Anyway you want to slice it, a good breakfast bowl is a go-to meal when RV camping. It is so easy to make with a standard RV kitchen.

Be sure to check out our YouTube channel for specifics on how to make the first variation, and you can always check out our sister page, Sage Root Nutrition, for more fun recipes.
